The Weather Company is seeking a Head of Advertising Technology to join and lead a team of engineers focused on rethinking the advertising technology stack and building software and solutions to support digital platforms, like Weather.com, that touch hundreds of millions of customers monthly.
The Weather Company is looking for an innovative leader with a proven track record of successful project and platform delivery in the advertising space. The Head of Advertising Technology will lead platform and application engineering for all aspects of advertising across The Weather Company. Specifically, he/she will be responsible for the full development lifecycle through application and platform engineering, design, security, compliance, and quality assurance.
The impact you'll make:
- Lead advertising engineering strategy - identify market trends and elect where to make investments.
- Work actively and hands-on in the product development lifecycle, leading the engineering team by example.
- Build and lead a best-in-class engineering team — hire and retain top-level talent.
- Be a thought leader internally and in the industry in all areas of advertising including targeting, delivery, optimization, and measurement.
- Partner with sales, operations, legal, security, and product teams within the organization as well as industry partners to develop forward-thinking solutions to solve today’s advertising challenges.
- Own the end-to-end product lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery, performance optimization, and alignment with business objectives.
What you've accomplished:
- 10+ years of software experience in ad or marketing tech, consumer products or SaaS companies (MS or PhD in Computer Science a plus).
- BS in Computer Science or related technical discipline or equivalent work experience.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Excellent leadership.
- Deep understanding of privacy compliance regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, and others, and ability to ensure advertising practices are compliant with these regulations.
- Strong knowledge of advertising system architecture, including ad-serving platforms, data management platforms, and analytics tools.
- Strong relationships with SSP and DSP partners, including Magnite, Criteo, A9, The Trade Desk, and Google, fostering collaboration and maximizing partnership opportunities.
- Experience working in an agile environment and familiarity with other development methodologies.
- Strong organizational, planning, oral and written communication with the ability to present at the executive level.
- Thorough understanding of web, mobile, and emerging platforms/technologies, with a passion for data-driven products and solutions.
